About Me

Hi, I’m Melissa, and I am thrilled that you've found your way here! I have been in the fitness and nutrition industry since 2009. My passion for health and wellness began long before that when I was in college. I majored in business marketing and worked in that field at Nielsen Business Media as an associate director of digital marketing for titles like Billboard and The Hollywood Reporter.

After getting married and becoming pregnant, I realized I wanted to make a career shift, have more flexibility in my schedule, and focus on my love for fitness and nutrition. During my pregnancy, I obtained certifications in pre and postnatal fitness and purchased a mommy-and-me fitness franchise. I started by teaching fitness classes to new and expectant mothers in Brooklyn and gradually incorporated nutrition into my work. As time passed, I moved beyond the baby stage, became certified to teach nutrition (first with Bodi and later with Integrative Institute for Nutrition), and transitioned my focus solely to nutrition. I sold my franchise to another mother with young children so that the neighborhood workouts could continue. My journey into nutrition began when I faced my own weight struggles after gaining 50 pounds in each of my pregnancies, which were only 18 months apart. I experimented with various fad diets and soon realized that these were short-term solutions. My quest for a sustainable and straightforward nutrition plan led me to dive deeper into the world of food. I learned about the importance of digestion, the timing of consumption, and the idea that we don't need to eliminate entire food groups.

Through trial and error, I discovered the plan that worked best for me and countless clients.

I understand the challenges of dealing with cravings, the apprehension of starting yet another plan that might feel like a waste of time and money, and the doubts that may linger when you finally reach out to me. I can assure you that this approach is unlike any plan you've tried before. My philosophy is centered on simplicity. You don't have to sacrifice alcohol, nights out, restaurant dinners, or vacations to achieve your goals. You can strike a balance and still feel amazing without giving up everything you love.

My goal for all my clients is that, after we finish working together, you will be 100% confident in your ability to continue losing weight or maintaining it, depending on your goals. I don't simply hand you a one-size-fits-all meal plan to follow while we work together. That wouldn't teach you how to eat after our time together, and you'd eventually be lost again. Instead, I empower you to choose the foods you enjoy to reach your goals. You'll be amazed at how simple it can be.

Why is working with Melissa different?

The combination of a SIMPLE meal plan tailored to your preferences and goals, along with consistent daily accountability, yields results. While I can easily provide you with a weight-loss meal plan, it won't lead to lasting success. Consider this: if you follow a 30-day plan that confines you to eating at home and measuring chicken and rice, what happens on day 31? Most likely, you'll go out and undo the results you achieved during those 30 days of suffering, eating foods you didn't enjoy. It's 30 days of torture with no long-term success strategy, which goes against my teaching.

I teach you to adhere to specific guidelines while selecting foods that YOU love. I show you how to dine out, how to travel, and how to LIVE without the stress of food. By the time we finish working together, you'll have the knowledge to continue achieving results while enjoying life beyond your kitchen. Accountability is a key element in our recipe for success . You'll have access to me for questions, assistance with grocery shopping, or deciphering restaurant menus. I'll be checking in with you daily to ensure that none of our days together are wasted. Knowing that you'll need to report your progress to me daily will greatly support your commitment.
